BEST PHOTOS OF 2013

photos@old81studios.com (OLD 81 STUDIOS) — Fri, 09 Oct 2026 00:00:00 GMT

]]>These are some of my best shots for 2013. Mostly from Kansas and Oklahoma and in Studio. Rustic Red Barn from an all American Farm to Route 66 gas station in Commerce, Oklahoma to Coronado Heights outside of Lindsborg, Kansas to The Eisenhower Museum and Presidential Library in Abilene, Kansas to the Sunset and Bridge overlooking Table Rock Lake in and near Shell Knob, Missouri to Wine Spashing shots taken in studio which you have the blood stem to a wine splashing into a heart shape spill from two glasses to an American Farm Grassland field with barbed wire that was taken from my daughter to even two photos from a local Cigar Shop of different cigars from inside their Humidor in Wichita, Kansas.

All of this art was created by JC Kirk except for the "barbed wire" art print which was done by Hannah Kirk.

BOMBSHELL 2013

photos@old81studios.com (OLD 81 STUDIOS) — Fri, 09 Oct 2026 00:00:00 GMT

]]>BOMBSHELL | FOR THE TROOPS | 2013

I have a friend overseas (actually, many friends) who have been there protecting, fighting, and saving. I wanted to do a little something for them, lift their spirits, give them something else to think about, remind them of home, remind them of America and remind them that WE THE PEOPLE are thinking of them. So I'm sending them some pin-up photos in a classy and classic 1940's vintage era style and feel. I hope these men and women enjoy these photos as much as I do.

Pin-Ups for the troops is really an American Tradition and I wanted to keep that tradition and feel ALIVE.

This is my first BOMBSHELL 2013: FOR THE TROOPS series and I think it's a real special one. I've wrote out some specs and notes below and truly believe that these brave men and women will enjoy and appreciate my work as we appreciate them serving our country.

This set is of 3 ladies, 2 photos each, plus one Dogtag photo. 44 of each pinup plus 40 of the Dogtags.

Today (April 19th, 2013) 304 will be sent to American Troops overseas. They were printed in wallet size that are approximately 3.25" by 2.25". Die-cut and rounded corners.

Each were hand stamped with the "Active Duty Special Edition" watermark with the logo in the center. Each one is unique because of the hand stamp, the die-cut position, and some have a white offset border which will be unique to each photo.

Printed on Fujicolor’s Crystal Archive Professional Paper Super Type PD. The standard longevity is 100 years in home display and 200 years in dark storage. Lustre Coating added a rich sheen to these prints and protects against fingerprints and UV exposure.

These will surely be a keepsake for those who served and also a collector's piece for them to bring home and cherish.

Godspeed.

JC Kirk

Hannah Maria (11-year-old) Photographer of Kansas Farmstead 2013

photos@old81studios.com (OLD 81 STUDIOS) — Fri, 09 Oct 2026 00:00:00 GMT

]]>This photo was taken by my daughter Hannah Maria. She was 11 years old when she took this photo on our Kansas Farm in Republic County.

I sat down with her and pulled this photo up in LR5. I manipulated LR while she told me what she liked better and which direction to go and what look she wanted to create. We finished this by creating a preset of all the manipulations, calling it "HF" for Hannah Farm.

With only one print online in an art market, she sold one very large print copy within two weeks.

We went through some other photos that she had taken that day and applied the same preset to them, cropping them to a 2x3 aspect ratio for easy selection for printing. We also had to use a special program to increase the pixel count and resolution for better printing of very large photos, such as the one she had already sold.

The money she makes from selling her photos will go into her photography fund. This fund will help her get better equipment for taking photos and editing them in post processing herself. She also wants to visit New York City to visit and sight see but to also take photos there.

Hannah Maria loves creating anything really. She really loves sharing her creations with other people. Whether people just look at her work and make a nice comment or if they purchase a print to hang in their home, she is ecstatic that her creative talent is being adored.

As a father, I want to see her succeed. I will also help her learn and guide her through her projects as long as this is something that she wants to do for her self gratification (even if some of that comes from other people's satisfaction and enjoyment of her artwork).

Follow your dreams, Hannah Maria, one shot at a time.

Marilyn 2011 Limited Edition (unlocked)

photos@old81studios.com (OLD 81 STUDIOS) — Fri, 09 Oct 2026 00:00:00 GMT

]]>INFORMATION: These photos are the start to the Marilyn Limited Edition series of prints.

ORDER HERE: http://photos.old81studios.com/marilyn_limited_order

DETAILS: I still have some of these prints, ready to ship from my studio to you. They are limited, so first come, first served. Let me know what size and of what print you would like. To order, follow the link above or email me.

ABOUT: Marilyn was simply amazing! She came well prepared (even with her own hairdresser) on short notice of WASI and fit the part exceptionally well. I didn't realize I was ready to shoot Pin-ups just yet but given her talent and look - it all fell together that night. So after the shoot, I'm giving her business cards and so forth and I ask her if she would like to be the 1st Old 81 Pin-up girl? She accepts and look at us now.

PLANES: The first one is a 1941 Vultee BT-13A built by Consolidated-Vultee in California. It was a Basic Trainer (BT) in World War II. It was built in November of 1941 and was delivered to the Army Air Corp (there was not yet any Air Force) on December 2, 1941, five days before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The blue and yellow paint job shows that it was purchased on a pre-war contract since they stopped painting them in those colors after the war broke out. The nickname for the airplane is the "Vultee Vibrator" since the canopy really shakes when you spin the airplane. Any old WWII pilot will know what airplane you are talking about if you mention "Vibrator". The engine is a Pratt & Whitney R-985 of 450 horsepower. The 985 is cubic inches displacement which is about 16 liters.

The other is a 1937 Lockheed 10A Electra that is being restored.

THANK YOU: A lot of people's help made this happen. Thanks to WASI and the Newton Airport, Gerry and his plane, Derek and his son Brandon, Phil the "grip" (I mean Key GRIP and model entertainer), Jasmin the hairdresser and the Airport Security.

SO YOU WANT TO BE AN OLD 81 PIN-UP?: If you have what it takes and the desire to be an Official Old 81 Pin-up then submit a short letter explaining all the reasons why we should pick YOU! Attach a few clean photos of yourself to your email. You just may become the next Old 81 Pin-Up Gal!

HS Senior Portrait Examples

photos@old81studios.com (OLD 81 STUDIOS) — Fri, 09 Oct 2026 00:00:00 GMT

]]>Senior Picture Prices

This is just a few examples of HS Senior Portraits that I've done during the last two years.

I have different editing styles to choose from. Some of my current favorites are: High Contrast & Vivid, Mocha, High Contrast Black & White, Warm Hair Light. There are other styles and directions that I can go.

I absolutely love the detail and high contrast in the one black and white photo in this gallery.

For your HS Senior session, choose the look and setting you want and even choose the font for the year text for the wallets. The wallets come with a plastic box to store them in.

Background settings can only be limited to your imagination and desire. Common settings are: Urban/Downtown, Nature/Parks, Farm/Barns, Flowers/Spring, Fall Colors, indoors. The possibilities are almost endless. Pick a theme and background to fit who you are. Bring props/clothing to your session that relates with you in areas such as Hobbies, Sports, Theatre/Drama, and other areas of interest during your high school years.

Thank you for looking and if you want me to take your portraits then I would book early so you are sure to get a spot and to get your photos back soon before graduation.

I think it shows in these photos.
